Together with the choreographer Jeremy Wade and the musician Brendan Dougherty, Meg Stuart curated the Politics of Ecstasy festival at the Hebbel-am-Ufer (HAU), Berlin in January 2009. Ten dancers and musicians from Berlin performed a series of improvisations on the festival subject for a week. They experimented with the notation of improvisation and verbal scores, and continued developing assignments in a live context. Individual evenings were then titled Ignorance Is Bliss, Big Messy Gala, Task Factory and Our Song Is Long. The latter was a 12-hour event with musical improvisations by Aaran Meicht and Brendan Dougherty as well as with dance interventions.
