On the occasion of Dag van de Dans (Dance Day) 2023, Damaged Goods has invited dance artist and longtime collaborator Maria Scaroni to teach a multi-day workshop at Decoratelier in Brussels, from 29 April to 1 May.
In ‘body/material’ dance is explored as a movement of attention and a technology of ecstasy. The class dynamic evolves from somatic tuning and awareness into a playground for a polymorphous and joyful dance experience. This workshop requires no specific skills, level or background, except for some familiarity with energetic and physical interactions in group.
Maria F. Scaroni has been working with Meg Stuart since 2009. Brussels audiences will recognise her from last year’s performance of Solos and Duets on Dance Day 2022, after which she guided a ‘techno drift’ through Brussels. She hosts Social Pleasure Center Fortuna in Berlin and is a member of queer collective lecken Berlin.
